ROAR VBS is in the books!

I’m not sure if you know how much work goes into putting on VBS every year. For the last 4 years, the brains behind the production each year have been Dave and Karen Torgersen. They have recruited the station leaders, the decorators, the actors and have done a great job!

And of course, we have to say farewell and THANK YOU to Rusty Shaffer, as he moves on with his youth ministry as the leader of The Forge. We will miss his enthusiasm and his masterful handling of every owie, tear and fear. He is the ultimate friend to all of our kiddos.

This year, we cooperated with Spirit of Joy Church. There were several leaders and kids that shared in our VBS. All said, it was a wonderful partnership.

The kids learned that in all circumstances, God is good!  They heard bible stories from Pastor Tony and John Janezic each day concerning the Israelite’s journey from slavery to freedom. They heard real life stories of children from Africa and how they live and worship.  They learned about different animals from the savannahs in Africa and created beautiful projects in Imagination Station. They were led in songs of praise each opening and closing.  They had a wonderful meal each night and the ULTIMATE water fight on Friday night.

This ministry is alive and well in Mesa AZ. I can’t wait to see what next year brings!
